System recovery

icon5.gif Hi. I have an HP pc, couple years old and has decided to crash on me. There is no F8 option on start up. F11 states I need to insert the windows installation disc for a repair. I have no such disc. It will not let me do a system restore or even a factory restore / recovery. The message "volume shady copy useed by system restore 0x1000202" keeps popping up when I click on system restore.
I tried to download a windows vista installation repair disc from the internet (via my laptop), burn to disc with utorrent but sill no good as the hp cannot connect to the internet to download a torrent to read the disc!! Please can anyone help me before the pc goes through the window?

Thank you.:(

I think some more information is needed.
What is the model of HP PC, and exactly what are the symptoms of the current build problem - does it boot, if not how far does it get, any error messages etc.

I would be careful downloading OS disks from a torrent, you may go from bad to worse.
