Barclays balance transfer not allowed!

Hi,

I recently received my new Barclays Simplicity Platinum Credit Card with a view to transfer balances from other cards. However, once logged into my account and clicking the transfer balance option it seems that i am not allowed to do so. Its not as if they've refused a balance transfer, it's just not an option?!?

The credit limit they gave me is pretty huge so i can't understand this at all.

Any ideas?

You probably have to ring up to do balance transfer. It's just as simple!

is it the one with a life of balance offer? when I got mine last year I had same problem, but if you ring them they can do it over the phone instead - it was classed as a purchase not a BT but still at the LOB rate

I've just had the same problem. Call them and they should do it. It is because it isn't an offer as such it is just the rate of the card. Be warned though I've just had problems because one of my credit cards has expired as it is a closed account and since it doesn't have a valid expiry date they won't transfer it.

Hi, thanks for the help. I was a bit worried for a bit thinking i wasn't allowed transfers at the low rate for life rate for some reason. A phone call was all that was needed and am now more than happy.
