Hi
I have been looking to buy a wii for a while, hoping they would come down in price, a few people thought they may come down to £99 but no sign of it yet so have decided to jump in. Seen a deal on ebay Zavii outlet for black wii for £139.99, amazon is about £165ish and similar at play and other sites.

The main question really now is about the sensor bar, I thought that these were included as standard, the ebay item doesnt list one but thought it was just a standard item so came as part of the console. was looking at Amazon reviews for same item and one reviewer reports that it doesnt come with the bar, any thoughts?

My kids had Wii's a couple of years ago, and they certainly came with the sensor bar.
I can't see them not including one, unless it's a cut down package, or was missed out of the box.

It's an integral part of the thing so it has to come with one.
No sensor bar = it won't work.

thanks guys, thats what I thought, maybe just a missing item from the box on one reviewers purchase
    thanks
  • Well you could always contact them about it, I am sure it would come with one otherwise they would state it does not (or at least should).

If it does not come with one then you can buy one on eBay for 4.45 delivered (I just checked for you) so it would still be worth it :)

    Hope that Helps.

As has been stated they do come as part of the unit.

We recently got one for our nephew this Christmas from toys r us,it was the black model and came with the sensor bar.

  • I believe the sensor bar receives the messages from the wireless controllers. Hence no sensor bar = no wireless controller use (including Wii balance board!).
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

not quite, the sensor bar interacts with the infra red light on the front of your wiimote, so the wii knows what part of the screen your pointing at, the wiimote motion sensing and controls are sent via bluetooth to the console itself.
If at first you don't succeed, maybe bomb disposal isn't the best career choice.
