  • P.S. Does your Mum need a Scenic, would something smaller be OK for her? If you decide not to try to repair the car, might be worth looking at a Fiat Panda, they have a nice high ride and I have the automatic (can't drive a manual either any more because of arthritis particularly in my left leg) which I picked when I could no longer drive my VW Polo. I've had it since Jan 2007 and it's a brilliant little car, I've never had any problems with it at all (touch wood). Nippy in town and goes OK on the motorway for a small car too. Fabulous to park and more space inside than you expect at first glance. And much cheaper than a Scenic too!

why should OPs mum be worse off thru no fault of hers.

"She is also upset as she had just had work done on it"
Just part of normal running costs, rather than part of value, unless of course she's 'pimped' it, sounds unlikely though

Thanks Bob, very helpful advice and you gave me a chuckle at the mere thought of my mother 'pimping' her car!:rotfl:

Special EDS generally means Special Edition, normally has extras such as electric windows etc

Assuming yours has 70000 miles on it, I would say the value is circa £1900 to £2400 assuming the condition is good

How much have they offered you?
