Voluntary resignation package

Options
Hope someone can give me some advice regarding a voluntary resignation package being offered at my work. The payout is pretty good with 7.5 month's salary lump sum on offer, plus any outstanding holiday pay.

The points I presume I would need to clarify before finally going for it are holiday due, final salary payment, when and how the lump sum payment will be made and confirmation of pension entitlement.

I'm not too concerned about finding other work, as I want to do agency work, something I've done before, and not get tied down to working in one place, something I've done for the past 8 years, so this is an ideal opportunity.

Hypothetically, how would I stand if I did need to register for JSA, would there be a compulsory waiting time before I could register, as technically I wouldn't have been made unemployed.

Thanks for any advice given.

They term it as an 'enhanced voluntary leavers scheme', which essentially puts the onus on the employee to resign on the enhanced terms they offer, without actually being made redundant.

You need to find out the wording in the letter that you will show JSA in regard to the termination of position. I took voluntary redundancy a few years ago and was able to claim JSA no problem. Two versions of this "enhanced voluntary leavers scheme" as far as I know - voluntary resignation and voluntary redundancy. Get them to clarify what would happen but personally I dont think you will get anything with resignation
