I am enjoying this blog as well, have been following it for a while and like this board it certainly inspires me. I remember her tv series and really wish it could be shown again, she used to show you how to build up a store cupboard bit by bit. I have 3 of her books, Goode kitchen, Goode year and Goode for one (all of which I would recommend)are there any more? Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

The ones I have are Goode Kitchen, Goode Year and Goode for One. Although I have culled my books they will not be removed cos I know that I will return to them. The Goode Year is very useful to remind me about different celebrations/festivals and suitable dishes. The craft suggestions are very basic but good for a beginner. She was the one who got me into growing and drying my own lavender and rose petals.True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060

I've got The Goode Kitchen, forgot all about it and had to go and look for it. Guess what I will be reading in bed tonight

Hi All,
I am Shirleys grandson, and just wanted to say thanks for all your kind words about her. She has seen this (in fact, she referred me to this), and is thrilled that people are still interested in her and her work.

Hi,
For all those looking for her books have you checked the local library? Some may have copies, and I believe you can get books from other libraries sent to your local one to borrow (but I may be wrong).
It's not a long term solution but it may help over the festive period.
Edit: I found this site which may be useful for this .. http://worldcat.org/search?q=shirley+goode&qt=faceted&fq=ap%3AShirley+Goode

She was one of the first people on TV to show how to save money by cooking from scratch, grow your own etc. I have just discovered her 'blog' in which she talks about her life, recipes etc. Thought that some of you might be interested.

I noticed that other people had commented on her blog but I couldn't see how to comment myself.
If you go in via her blog - today's link is

rather than through her webpage then you can post a comment on the bottom. I'm not sure why this is a problem, it's perhaps the way she has set up the blog as she obviously welcomes comments.
