Hi

We are moving house tomorrow, the house has been empty for a while and the current electricity supplier is Swalec and British Gas for gas.

If I wanted to move supplier tomorrow to get the products on on direct debit plan can you do this and what is the procedure?

Call the exisiting suppliers with meter readings, then sign up with a new supplier?

Also with the gas and electric in our property what do we need to do here? Call up our existing supplier EON with meter readings and ask to close the account as we are moving home?

    Correct you are.

Tomorrow now give eon a call and give them your readings and a forwarding address for the final bills, if you want to take them over to the new property let them know in this call so they can put through an order for you, then call BG and Swalec with readings and get accounts set up in your name for both as you'll be with them for approx 4-6 weeks before the supply moves. If you're moving a fair while out of your current area though (or maybe even do it anyway) run your details through a comparison website to make sure you're getting the best deal for your area.
