The Tories were in power until 1997. But the point I’m making is that the Tories keep making out the whole of the debt is down to Labour where in fact most of it is due to the banking crisis. Also before being elected Cameron was promising to match Labour’s spending so they are no different from each other.0

Yes, and can you show me that that hasn't happened?
Key note, however...."IF, there is a conservative government, there will be".
There isn't a conservative government.0 -
You're dragging facts into the discussion, ukcarper.
That's simply not on.0 -

You are priceless.
So now you're saying the Tories would have matched Labour spending if they went it alone?
It's those libdems forcing through all the cuts, yes? :rotfl:0 -

No, I'm not saying that.
But you talk about bringing facts into the discussion, and then simply ignore the other facts you don't like.
Meanwhile, you haven't answered a single question.0 -

There is a difference.
I don't believe it's politics to just misrepresent continually? Labour ran a very clever misresprestation campaign on the forests stuff. Sure, the forests stuff isn't the biggest issue on our hands, but they have been able to totally misrepresent the whole issue, and have been succesful. Trouble is, the whole country then doesn't move forward.
I've not seen a party completely misrepresent an issue and completely misrepresent the actual policy before. Well, not since the Damien Green thing.
Do you still believe its just Labour doing this?0 -

Cus I wanted to put some context on the issue...
It was mostly made up of WW1 and WW2 debt, which had been paid down, by all governments since the war.
How do you think most of that reduction in debt/GDP was achieved? By spending cuts or growing GDP?0
