Am I being diddled

Back in December, the 20th, I got verbal notice of possibly being made redundant at the end of Feb. Today, I got written notice confirming I had been selected. Am I right in thinking I was entitled to 90 days notice? I have been with the company for 17 years. I calculate this will be short of 90 days and therefore will be diddled out of a couple of weeks work/pay?
I hope someone can make sense of this, I am currently drowning my sorrows. Thanks, Lynn

Have a look at the Redundacy and leaving your job page on direct.gov
hope it helps0 -
What is your leaving date.
You are missing some detailmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
why do you think you need 90 days notice and what for.
There are are two periods they have differnt rules/guidelines.
Consultancy, A period where you are risk of reduncancy.
This can be shoert or long depending on what neds to be consulted and how many people are involved.
Notice of termination.
With 17 years service this will be 12 weeks or more if contractual.
if they want you to leave early they will need to pay PILON.
The reduncancy is based on full years service basedon the termination date or the date it would have been with statutory notice if that is later.
So when did you start could it be 18 years service for redundancy?
Holidays acrue upto the date of termination0 -
Not an expert on this but I think the 90 day period only applies if there are 20 or more redundancies involved.
How many jobs are going?0 -
