Scooter transportation - How?

What sort of cars/trucks do people have for transporting large scooters?
I can imagine they may fold and fit into some large estate cars, but that would surely mean the rear seats unusable.
So do people use trucks? And if so do they have lids/covers?
Any views and examples would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure if you mean just to get it home or for transporting regularly but when I bought my TGA Breeze, we just hired a large transit van (that was all I could get at the time) and borrowed a ramp and drove it in.0

Hi - had a three wheel scooter t couldn't lift it (even dismantled) so we bought a small trailer with high sides and the back foldered down and became a ramp - so you just got off and held the lever as it went inside.
I did have a plastic cover with elastic but found it easier just to cover the controls in wet weather (with plastic carriers tied on) and I had an old kangol which fitted over the seat and was secured underneath.

i have a toyota yarus verso, i remove center seat and drop nearside seat into the floor, that gives me a flat floor from back door to front nearside seat. i can drive my 8mph scooter full size up the two ramps and putting both ramps at back of i go with room for to others a well. good car it is to. oh not forgetting the 2 dogs.:)0

I have a Ford Galaxy with a scooter hoist. With my rather large scooter in, I can have 5 seats still up and fit both my DDs buggy and my DSs wheelchair in the back with space for shopping ontop!. In theory I should still be able to use the 6th in the 3rd row (although I havent tried as yet) Take the scooter out and I can use all 7 seats still!0

Father in laws scooters had fitted in the boot of a mondeo. They usually break down into quite
managable pieces. batteries are heavy though.
Didnt have to drop the rear seats. Plenty of room.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Interesting about hoists/lifts. I had thought ramps would be the way to go.
Currently have one that breaks into pieces. Looking at a larger one, that only the seat will come off and the steering folds down on. Need to keep the rear seats. So really looking at estate cars or bigger.
I am seriously thinking dual cab truck. A man thing
All a bit of a minefield really
