British gas contract roll over
Hello people, I've just realised that British Gas have rolled over my contract without even telling me, and now they say i'm locked into a 12 month contract at higher rates - not nice when you run a small business!
They claim they sent me a renewal letter but I don't recall receiving it and usually I file everything they send me.
Can anyone help me by telling me what the renewal letter looks like? Or send me a scan/pic of one they've received? I read elsewhere on line that they sometimes 'disguise' it (presumably hoping you won't read it, so that they can then charge you higher rates). But if I knew what I was looking for hopefully I'll be able to find it among my piles of paper or at very least remember whether they ever sent it to me in the first place and I chucked it....
Yours hopefully.....

BG rollover letters are normally very to the point so not sure where this disguise opinion has come from!
What contract is it?0 -
Thanks Yellowcard. It's a 12 month electricity contract. I just read online that some of the renewal letters start by talking about a special offer or something completely different, and then further down say 'oh by the way your renewal is coming up!' But I have no idea whether that's right because I dont think I ever got the letter!0

Have various depots at different sites throughout the country. When I discovered that I missed the window to renew contract rates British Gas insisted they had sent the renewal letters out to the various sites on 27th September. Got nowhere when I said I had not received them as I was told they have "proof of postage" !!
One letter going astray believable but three to different addresses??
Now had to contact them re not receiving other correspondence from them regarding other renewed rates and was told they had been sent out in December!!!
No confidence in their mailing proceedures & now intend taking this further.0 -

Do! I suggest you contact your local Royal Mail office and also the police regarding the missing mail. Loss or theft of mail seems to be a huge issue, especially with MSE newbies where such non-delivery suits their agenda."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
