    thanks ginger i think i crossed posts with you there...yeah the o.u i think will be the way forward for me to go ...i have studied with them before and am doing a finance course just now (not spent much time studying due to college work...that will change now) this way i can do it at my own pace ...i am very lucky in that when i work night shift i have the full shift to study (think that's how i got those results lol) and after reading all the helpfull advice from everyone here i think i will study purely for the love of studying now and not the money cause it just aint there...

    It is a difficult choice when considering whether to attend uni with a full time job. I do have friends that do this, but it is VERY difficult and there is no doubt their grades are affected.

    I don’t work and we are lucky we can just about get by on the student loan of £4k and my husbands wages. However, I don’t receive any other financial help as my husband earns over £25k. If your husband earns less than this, you will get other help apart form the loan in the form of grants and the access to learning fund.

    If money is the ONLY thing holding you back I would seriously look into all options. There is lots and lots of help for mature students, especially those with kids and who are in debt/have mortgages to pay.
