Two years after separation - wife wants more

Hi
My wife and I separated two years ago. We sold house and split proceeds 50/50. I gave her £4000 in lieu of family car and she bought another. She had contents of entire house and I kept touring caravan.
Nothing was done legally.
Now two and half years later she has sent solicitor letter threatening with court if I don't pay her half of the caravan and car. Her solicitors ask for voluntary disclosure of assets including 6 months bank statement but all the transactions I have stated are on statements two years ago.
Any advice?
I can't really afford solicitor and don't fancy going to court.
thanks

Why have you not started divorce proceedings?

YOu really do need to get this sorted out properly with a financial settlement that does not leave you open to bullying.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Stupid really. Neither of us were in a hurry to divorce. I moved in with my parents and she moved to a new house - just overlooked. Then she started having affair with my brother and the emotions which have caused trauma within my family made me bury my head a bit!
I issued divorce proceedings four weeks ago for two year separation and she refused to consent until finances sorted in her favour. thanks for your reply.

Surely you can divorce her for adultery without her consent.

Her assets should also be considered in dividing up the marital assets (even if separated for 2 years), I think you need a solicitor though :(

yep she can't have it all ways - if she gets half of your assets, you also get half of hers...some solicitors will give a free initial session...get one booked
