I visited a McDonald's twice in 3.5 hours on the same day, I only stayed no more than 10 mins on each visit, now have a 'fine' for £50 if I pay now or £100 if I take to long to pay as they have put the picture of my entrance on my first visit and a picture of my exit on my 2nd visit together and say that I stayed for the duration which they claim is 224 minutes - over 4 hours!!! This is just rubbish as in between I attended my daughters parents evening - how do I prove them wrong?

By just ignoring them.
I'm convinced the ANPR software is programmed to ignore inbetween comings and goings and just choose the 1st and last. Anyway, they don't have a leg to stand on and will give up after about 5 letters/threats. If you contact them expect a few more after these.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
You don't have to prove anything. Just ignore them completely- how do I prove them wrong?
have a read of these Met Parking threads:

Ignore them.
If you want to do something then write to McDonalds and complain that they are using these cowboys. Point out that from now on you will use Burger King.
The gentleman you want to harass at McDonalds is the UK CEO Steve Easterbrook. Email all the addresses below - one should get through but you will get some bounce back messages :
steve.easterbrook@mcdonalds.co.uk
seasterbrook@mcdonalds.co.uk
s.easterbrook@mcdonalds.co.uk

They might have some pretty pictures of a car, but that proves nothing. From those pictures they have no way of identifying the driver. I imagine they have contacted you because you are the registered keeper. The driver and the RK may be two different people.
The parking company has to prove the identity of the driver, and the RK is under no obligation to give out that information. This is why we tell people to ignore these companies and not to correspond with them. Without the driver identity the parking company have fallen at the first hurdle. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Given that it was MET at McDonalds that caused Watchdog to look into things, which resulted to this article www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAIcdi9niHA it is good to know that McDonalds still employ MET.
To me it just proves that McDonalds don't give a fudge about their customers and their own reputation. Follow SodG24's advice above and let McDonalds know what you think of them.0 -

The classic "First in last out" scam. Very well known.
As the others have said, ignore MET but complain most strongly to McDonalds about them employing a cowboy outfit to persecute their customers.0 -

And tell McDonalds that you will inform all of your family, friends, colleagues, bosses, subordinates...the congregation of your church if necessary about this and warn them about the practises of their fast food chain.0
