Barclaycard payment question, how long to clear?

Hi all,
I usually pay my Barclaycard bill in full every month over the internet (debit card)but this month i have paid it over the counter in my local Barclays Branch.
I just wondered how long it takes before my payment shows on my Barclaycard account? The payment date is the 14th of Feb. The lady in the branch said 3 to 4 working days but on the back of my statement it says a payment can be made in cash at any UK Barclays up until 5.30pm on the due date.
I am slightly confused, if i was told it takes 3 to 4 working days to clear how can you pay on the due date. Surely that would mean you would have missed your payment deadline and they would start to add interest.

Dont stress Poppie, this happens all teh time, you would be surprised how many people set their Direct Debit to come out on the the due date, forgetting the 'allow 3 days to clear' comment. You have paid, it will be marked as payment recieved and you should be fine.0

Your balance will get paid since you paid in cash. When paying cash, it will pay off your balance immediately. It's just like you put cash into a bank account, and you can immediately use it using your debit card to buy stuff (online banking will also show the amount as a 'cleared' balance).0
