Contributions based JSA

Hello,
I am due to be made redundant soon from a large, well known bank! I have worked there for 12 years in customer services.
Does anyone know how much I would have to had paid in NI to be entitled to contribustions based JSA??
I have called the job centre but they didn't know...
Not too hopeful of finding a new job to fit around childcare sadly so hoping the JSA will help while I am looking.
Thanks

if you have worked there full time for 12 years one would expect your conts for the last two tax years to be fully paid, therefore you should be able to claim it0

It sounds well that they couldn't tell you at the Jobcentre !
You're definitely entitled if you've worked for the past 12 years with no gaps. Remember it's only paid for 182 days.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
Note that if your redundancy includes PILON (pay in lieu of notice) you'll probably have to wait till the end of the notice period before getting JSA.0

Not since October 2009. Paymens from employment that has ended including PILON and outstanding holiday pay is now treated as capital and disregarded as 'earnings' so if you are claiming contribution-based JSA, it will have no effect at all. You should claim as soon as you finish working.Note that if your redundancy includes PILON (pay in lieu of notice) you'll probably have to wait till the end of the notice period before getting JSA.0
