I always thought answering surveys for money was the sort of job that loads of people would like, but actually they don't really exist. Is that right?

It doesn't exist as a job, no. But it does exist as a way of getting a few quid extra here and there - pocket money, I suppose.

You don't get more than a few pence to a couple of quid for most surveys, but if (like me) you'd only be wasting time on facebook and (ahem!) messageboards otherwise, it's a handy few bob to have.
  • I heard of people doing surveys for stamps, something to do with Royal Mail. Is this still available and does anyone know how to sign up for it please?

I did it for a while a couple of years ago. It was good for the first couple of months, as they only sent you two envelopes to post. But after that they greatly increased the number of items you had to post. Every couple of weeks I'd get a huge bag of envelopes and packets, it would take an hour just to work out what item was to be posted on what day and in which post box.

    So I gave it up.

There was a thread about it in here at the time, but you'd have to search for it.

Yeah I often think what if I didn't spend so much time on that stupid social networking site (where nothing really seems to actually be happening), how many extra quids could I get!

Like you say, if the time is only going to be wasted otherwise...

  • Damn! I read the thread, went to do the sign-up survey and got this :(

"Thank you for visiting the Royal Mail Monitor website.

Unfortunately, due to a high volume of responses, we are not recruiting to the monitor at this time. "

I've been doing it for over 2 years now - get 12 x 1st class stamps and 4 x 1st Large every month. Every so often I get mis-delivery surveys and get £6 of High St Vouchers for those. I'm also part of the parcel survey and get £15 to post a parcel for £7 ish.

It's one to keep an eye out for
