    Practically everyone else.

But, seriously, find yourself a reliable local CH engineer/plumber and an electrician and call them as and when needed, which won't be very often. You will save a fortune and get better service.
  • There are a few.
    • E.ON
    • Southern Electric
    • nPower
    • Homeserve
    • Domestic & General
If you say to BG you have seen a cheaper deal with another company and you want to leave they will reduce your monthly price to retain your business. :p

    Hope that helps.

  • If you have gas with BG on direct debit request to switch to EnergyExtra 400, covers your full heating system (boiler, radiators, controls), electrical wiring, plumbing and drainage for £27 on top of your gas direct debit rather than a separate homecare package. You avoid yearly renewal costs with this and unlike with homecare if you don't have any callouts on your boiler in 12 months you get a £20 credit to your gas account.

If you want to avoid paying large monthly amounts ask to cancel your current plan and get EnergyExtra 50, again it attaches to your gas account but being on direct debit isn't compulsory. With this one you only pay £3 a month and get exactly the same services covered but callouts parts and labour aren't inclusive and are charged at a maximum of £99 per callout however big the job is, which is potentially significantly cheaper than a regular call out from an electrician, plumber, engineer etc.

We have the same as you and have had it for about 3 years. However everytime they send a renewal through I always challenge the increase. We are still at 30 a month.

There may be cheaper out there but the service we have received from them has been excellent.

    Highly recommended.
