I have read the brilliant thread on worse christmas presents.
Just wondered what the best present you recieved was.
I remember when my 2 DD's were 3 and 1 sixteen years ago. My DH auntie bought us a hamper from Marks and Spencer. It was the best present we have ever recieved. We were really poor at the time and wasn't going to buy any extra or luxury foods for christmas.
It was pure bliss having chocolates buscuits e.c.t from M&S.
So what was yours.

Something a bit more materialistic I'm afraid - the beautiful garnet and pearl necklace that my OH bought me for our first christmas - it was from past times and it is SO "me", I love it, and when he went to buy it it had sold out so he traipsed all the way over to another shopping centre miles away to find it. Opening it was such a lovely moment as the thought and effort he'd put in was :smileyheaReturning MoneySaver, now furiously saving for a house deposit...0

Unfortunately for me christmas isn't a good time. A few years ago my husband passed away two days before christmas and I had to tell my little boy on christmas eve that his Dad wasn't with us anymore.
I have a new friend in my life these days he is very special but I have such a heavy heart at christmas I just don't do very well.
My best present was a gold cherub he had brought a few years before, it is so special.
So I have no sparkle in me anymore, I read this thread to try to give me encouragement, I'll keep trying.

My favourite x-mas present was a floppy stuffed cuddly dog my dad bought me when I was 3. Mum had asked him to go out to buy a pressie for me as she was the one who usually did all the pressie shopping, but that year she told him to go out and get a ressie each for me and my sister. When he came home with that floppy looking bedraggled thing, my mum exclaimed in horror "you bought that?!?". Now all I remember from that x-mas was that last pressie that was hidden behind the tree in our front room, and I loved it to bits! I still have it, but I have passed it on to my children now. And it's even more special to me now that dad's gone. It's just one of those little things I can treasure, and it's a present I know came from the heart, because he said he saw it and just had to buy it as he really thought I'd like it.0

Also both years I had tiny babies on christmas day it snowed just as we sat down for christmas dinner which it never does where we live.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
