Im seeing(well it seems) sellers listing dispatch/delivery times like
are sellers pushing these times up to cover themselves?
when i bought and sold on eBay i would have said this was rare
however ive seen a few like this now?

It's done by ebay based on what seller states is their despatch time and service used. I state despatch within 2 working days via 2nd class and have the following added by ebay:
£0.85
United Kingdom
Economy Delivery (Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard)

Actually i wonder if that is why my stars are high as I usually send within 24 hours and most of my stuff arrives the day following, so buyers get it quicker than expected and leave me 5* stars...maybe?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think it depends sometimes on the quality of other aspects of the transaction too - if I had to wait a week for something that was SNAD or had issues with postage overcharges or a rude seller or something I'd feel more like knocking their stars than if I say bought it and then forgot about it and it came within a reasonable time and everything else was OK.Actually i wonder if that is why my stars are high as I usually send within 24 hours and most of my stuff arrives the day following, so buyers get it quicker than expected and leave me 5* stars...maybe?
There was once I waited a bit longer than was usual, saw the seller had been marked down for dispatch, but then found from her Me she toured round fairs and shows a lot and often therefore was a bit late sending items out. I didn't mark her down at all because she bothered to make people aware that she did this, it was a fairly legitimate reason for a delay (unlike the "I am a busy mum..." stuff you get from some private sellers) and didn't find that a big problem myself."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

well i looked into an order i have outstanding
bought/paid on BIN 27/01/11
dispatched 28/1/11
not received 4/2/11
estimated delivery "Estimated within 3-4 working days"Estimated delivery dates - opens in a new window or tabinclude
seller's dispatch time, and will depend on postal service selected and receipt of cleared payment- opens in a new window or tab.
Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods.
but if you select contact seller and then "wheres my item"
it statesThe seller received your payment on 28 Jan, 2011. Your delivery estimate is 03 Feb, 2011 - 07 Feb, 2011.
now i paid on the 27th but no matter. Im not stressing about the item being delayed.
just curious about the disparity in quoted times of the listing and what is stated via eBays system?
3-4 working days from dispatch is yesterday. you can see where the problems kick in for sellers0 -
custardy you are trying to impose logic on ebay, they wouldn't know what logic was if they fell over it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
