I think she should be able to claim Income Support as she should meet the criteria for it under the Pregnancy category.
She could possibly get Maternity Allowance if she is within 11 weeks of having the baby depending on how much she has worked in the last 66 weeks.
Failing all this she would still be able to sign on for Jobseekers Allowance, providing she is actively seeking work then she should get this.

Contraceptives...Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Contraceptives is a bit late now!! I was 17 when I got pregnant with my first and not everyone turns out to be a loser. I have now 3 children - a very big gap between them as I am now 36. I have always worked, have re-married and am now at university studying to be a teacher. I previously was a Face to Face officer at the CSA after having already been a Fraud Investigator with the Benefits Agency. I was a secretary and Admin Assistant in my time, so don't condemn her yet to a life of nothing! If she wants to, she can still make a life for herself and her baby. I wish her all the very best. It will be extremely hard work, but with support from her family, she can do it whether she is with somebody or not.
Yes she will be entitled to Income Support but at a lower rate until she reaches 25. Hopefully, she won't need it for long!0 -
a council house? My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police - Margaret Thatcher.0

Agreed it was a little flippant, but I don't think it implied she was a loser, maybe a little silly. And the government is pushing th use of condoms for young people.Competitions - See it, search it, post it, simples
