OMG Pregnant and Bankrupt!

I was declared bankrupt at the end of November least year
I have now since found out I am pregnant (wasn't planned) and i'm worried sick about our financial situation as I have no surplus left to buy anything for the baby
What is my situation with this and BR, do I need to advise the OR about this, is there any benefits i'd be entitled to, I work full time and my partner is still out of work and not entitled to benefits as I am on over £20k per annum

Where are you based?
We are just moving house and have a fair amount of stuff to get rid of. My partner only buys top quality stuff (to my dismay).
I know this isn't the answer to your question, but as I was just about to go on Freecycle and I saw this post, I thought I'd offer. Although maybe wont be able to anyway!0 -
Wow - Congratulations xx
Don't worry, you won't go without.. speak to the OR and ask them some questions about it to put your mind at rest.
Do you have an IPA in place?
When is the baby due?
Do you get maternity pay?
Please don't worry, this is great news and I'm sure you can get through this
Do you have family that can help? I'm sure a lot of parents get gifted loads of toys and clothes, and despite popular belief, you don't need all fancy things at a young age to be happy ! xx9/70lbs to lose0 -

Hi, thanks for your kind words
My company is actually really good - I get 6 months full maternity pay
I've actually only just found out i'm pregnant and i'm due late September
I know I don't need to spend loads as its about giving love and keeping a roof over their head but I would have liked to have some money to buy bits and pieces throughout my pregnancy - I don't think £250 a month will cut it for food when I have a baby and endless amounts of nappies and milk to buy

Congratulations on the baby.
Don't panic, you've already done the best thing for the baby by declaring yourself bankrupt. Also, check out what benefits the child will be entitled to [family tax credits etc.]
Hopefully your OH will find work before September.0 -
I think you get grants whilst you are pregnant to help with buying things, cot, pram etc..
I'm near Leeds too, I go to Leeds Uni..9/70lbs to lose0 -

Hi there, congrats on your impending arrival!!! I am due my second baby in June. You can pick up loads of great quality second hand stuff from NCT nearly new sales!! Also, have you thought about breastfeeding...its free!!! I'm a qualified helper so if you want any more info feel free to ask me and I'll try and help x0 -
Put an ad onto freecycle, people are always getting rid of baby stuff on there. It might help a little towards the bigger items you need.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -
I've had a look and it seems you may have to be claiming some sort of benefit to be entitled.
This gives a good overview I think.
