If a mate of mine managed to buy a 2000 Honda Civic for £600 in tidy condition there's no reason to buy this Neon.

i'd agree here. i came across a rare bargain of a honda civic a few months ago, black sport model with all the toys. w reg. it needed tidying up and a few minor repairs but nothing hard or time consuming. after one weekend cleaning and fixing it i sold it for £750 and it was in good condition for its age and mileage with a full yars MOT.

have a look around pistonheads classifieds, theres plenty of bargains on there if your quick enough.

thanks for all your replies, i'm limited to be honest on what i can insure,

2.0 LX Neon is Group 22

there would be many cars with cheaper insurance, even a bigger car like a Vectra would only be group 13-17 depending on engine.

Focus 1.4 is only group 9, so something is wrong with your quotes.

Seems like someone got it wrong, and the RT is actually group 24.
