what is right on tv return

my friend got married last month a couple of days before they got married they brought a 32in flat screen tv from m&s but didnt open it coz were waiting for after wedding
well they got married went on honeymoon when come back found out her family had brought them a bigger tv so dont need the m&s one went to take it back with receipt the tv still in compleet box not open
what are there rights as m& s wont refund she even sai well il be happy with credit note but no they still wont take it back !!! what is here rights
it was 2 days out side the 30day refund as they got delayed on the flights coz all the fighting in egypt can some one advice plz

Sorry, but after this time they have no right to a refund or credit note just because they have decided they no longer want the product.
Absent because of wedding... fighting in Egypt... duplicate present...

the 30 day refund policy is a courtesy
theres no obligation to refund0 -
Tough luck I'm afraid.
Maybe they could put it on ebay & then put the money towards a bigger tv?Wedding 5th September 20150 -
