Carers Allowance backdated?

2»

Comments

  • My husband got a letter from DWP today, and they have backdated his carers allowance to last May without any problems, so I don't think the three month rule still applies.

the three month rule still applies but they can over turn it for some reasons
  • yes

    in my experience.

this happened to me last week with sons dla.

i claimed from october but as it was more than 4 months they honoured because i rang as soon as i got the letter.

as you cant ring until you know and the lady on phone agreed as i only got informed that day they backdate to when dla is backdated to.

hope it is same for you - good luck.
