Driver instructors taken my money, wont answer calls.
I had payed for a 12 block of lessons with an AA instructor direct to him, but now he has left AA and wont answer his phone.
Has the money gone?
The AA said that because I paid direct to him they cant offer me a refund and the company he said he was moving to said he doesnt work for them.
I dont have a receipt, I just have the hours book where he wrote 12 hours in.
Does anyone know what I can do? Shouldn't the AA warn students not to pay directly?
I only have mobile numbers that dont work and £300+ worth of lessons.
Help please.
(N.B. I've also posted in Consumer Rights, since it involves both)

Find out where he lives, knock on the door and demand the money back. If he doesn't give it to you, take it to small claims court. You're probably not the only person in the area so I'd send a letter to the local newspaper and form a group and then as a group take him to court.0

Did the AA put you in touch with him? Or did he advertise on his own?0

When I lkearned how to drive it was common to give the money direct to the instructor, even if they were part of a larger franchise.
I've just had a look on the AA website and there is nothing on there about not paying the instructor.
If you booked the original lesson via The AA and they provided this instructor to you, then I would suggest The AA are responsible for either refunding the money, or providing an alternative instructor.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Google his name. It's usually quite easy to find their home address. Lots of them also teach outwith the franchise and if that's the case with your instructor, he'll most likely have his address advertised. We’ve had to remove your signature. Small claims, threaten to take the case to Watchdog when you call the AA again to damand your money, or send the boys around with the bats.0

How did you pay him ?
If on a cc etc, you should be able to claim it back via the card company0
