Don't know if this is just a problem for me....but everytime I check out items on the Argos website and try to view customers reviews....it scrolls down to where the reviews should be...but nothing to view. It usually shows message "Review retrieval timed out".
Any ideas anyone, thanks

What browser are you using? If it's IE, then try Firefox or Chrome to see if they have the same problem.0

Thanks very much...with the help of hubby downloaded Google Chrome and great can see the reviews. :TTo think I have had this problem for a year or more.
Can you explain why this would make such a difference.....a while back, daft me even got on to Argos....customer services passed me on to their techie people and even they had no explanation to give me...at no time did anyone say try a different browser. Says a lot for their technical department !

It's not that it can't work in IE, it's just that something is stopping it for you. When looking at a problem like this, it's always a good call to try a different browser, which then tells you where to go next.
I would think that the problem in IE is either temporary files which need deleting (clearing the cache):
start >control panel >internet options
or an addon problem - to test, try start >programs >accessories >system tools > Internet Explorer (no addons)
Personal choice, but you may find Chrome better anyway, IE is too slow and prone to problems. Just keep IE there for badly written websites that will only load in IE.0 -
I just tried it with javascript turned off and cannot see any reviews. Try turning on javascript in IE and then you should be able to see the reviews.0

Yep noscript blocks something i forget what it is but use IE or firefox with noscript disabled and it should work.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

The reviews on that Argos page load ok for me in Firefox, with Noscript enabled - and with nothing on that page specifically allowed or whitelisted.0

That's interesting, i think your Noscript may not be fully protecting you?
scripts appear to be loading without warning
I'm not a mainstream FF/Noscript user so not entirely sure how it whitelists but i can confirm that the Argos page is definitely using javascript (both loading from the page and loading productdetails.js, bazaarvoice.js & others) to create an iframe and load the customer reviews.0
