Has Anyone Had Any Success with MBNA?

Options
Hi All,

I was mis-sold PPC in 2000, on the application form I ticked the 'NO' box and MBNA added it to my account anyway, I queried it and they basically told me that I had to have it (I was a bit naive back then). I sent the questionnaire off to them last August, they responded in November that they they were waiting for the judicial hearing etc etc. I phoned the FOS and they told me to pass the case onto them. I have been allocated an adjudicator but have not heard anything back (I know thay they have been overwhelmed with cases).

Has anyone had any success with MBNA? They seem to be such stallers. Can't find many wins against them on the forum therefore I am starting to feel a bit disillusioned.

anna i have had a lot of refunds from MBNA and were very good with me refunding the full amount of charges back, they will respond if you give them time and if you phone them they will update you at any time.
  • Hi Galei,
They won't give me any info because of the judicial review. The FOS have gone very quiet too. I have a good case against them as I ticked the "No" box to PPC and have a copy of the agreement. Ah, well think I will have to be very patient with this one.

    Hi there

MBNA arent supplying any information to the FOS no case files or anything.

The reason your adjudicator has gone quiet is because he/she is sturggling to get enough info to make a decision on the case. However, instructions are being issued to write no file views on MBNA cases where they arent giving anything.....which is every single case. What this means is that the adjudicator will go with your verbal testimony in the absence of any other evidence from the bank. MBNA will just reply to the adjudication saying JR we dont accept and the case will go into the ombudsman queue.....which has a waiting tim eof upto 16 months so prepare to wait!

    Hope this helps
