Back in Oct last year my son used my car to go to work at Air Nightclub in brum, he parked under the instruction of the management in a carpark in trinity st. It was the normal proceedure by the manager to give the registrations to Elite car parking service in order for the staff vehicles not to receive tickets, if a ticket was issued it was then given to the manager who contacted elite to have the ticket void. I received a letter from Graham White sols. informing me of intended legal action, then other letters followed, then letters from Roxburghe then a final warning from GW Sols. I wrote back to the sols. initialy explaining the situation, sent by recorded delivery. No response.
Last night I received a phone call from Roxburghe regarding the outstanding fees. (I have read loads of threads) so they were told that they would not be paid. Then I received a call from Graham White Sols asking also for the fee to be paid denying all knowledge of a letter from me. Today tracked the recorded letter and found it had been signed for the following day, so phoned GW and told them about it, low and behold they found it but then informed me that there were 3 parking fines, I have no knowledge of there other two, only the one where my son followed the proceedure outlined above. They went on about me sorting the fee out (paying for it) I said I was not happy about the whole situation and that I felt something was amiss. I then told them that (having read one of the threads) I was reporting them to the law society & making a formal compaint to a solicitor. I was told then to take that action if I wished and then they put down the phone. I suffer with Rhuematoid Arthritis and any stress makes the symtoms worse, this whole business is making me ill. I feel I want to report these people to someone and take action against them for the stress is causing i feel that it is harrassement. What should I do now its so worrying.

Take a deep breath and try and relax, there is nothing they can do to you as you were never the driver. You are the registered keeper so they have sent the letters to you. If you have actually told them it was your son driving then they have no right to be contacting you. If you have not told them they will threaten you with all sorts of plagues and disasters coming upon you.

However they are just that threats, it is impossible to enforce anything against you, 1, you were not the driver or 2, you told them you were not the driver. Whichever one means the same they have no power over you except threats.

Don't get stressed out, you have nothing to worry about. Roxburghe and GW are the same people and can be safely ignored. What you need to do though is stop communicating with them, it only makes them think you are worried and encourages them to pester you for longer than normal.
I believe the SRA URL]http://sra.org.uk[/URLare already investigating Graham White aka M.Sobell, so a complaint to them would be a good idea.

Take the advice and stop communicating with them. Should they phone you again, then ask them if are not busy enough keeping their necks out of the nooze due to being investigated and that your refuse to discuss or being intimidated by a company that is under official investigation and widely known for using unorthodox practises. Then put the phone down.

I always find that putting people like this into their place with a few words releaves a lot of my stress. Hope this works for you too.

Best thing to do if they ring you again is answer the phone as you normally do, if its them simply put the phone down gently to one side and turn the telly or radio up, give it a minute or two then put the phone back on the receiver.

Its costing them more money phoning you, you owe them diddly squatt. If they continue phoning you get in touch with BT and subscribe to their choose to refuse service and barr their number.

If they phone, tell hem you have contacted your solicitor, and the call is being recorded, as you may well be contacting the police to report them for harrassment , and the call may be used in evidence, you should then hear a click and a burrrr, as they drop the phone and terminate the call.

You are taking them far too seriously and they know it. You keep calling the amounts 'fines' and 'fees' but they are neither, there is no valid debt here! Calm down and realise that this is nothing at all to worry about - certainly don't pay and don't talk to them!

Roxburghe and Graham White are the same people, debt collectors (the latter pretend to be a Solicitor but it's a Roxburghe debt collector who makes those calls). From your description they are harassing you so read this link to see where to report this to. Harassment is a criminal offence on their part:

Maybe get your local MP or Age Concern on your side but make sure they understand that this is a scam and you owe no money (show them this forum if need be so they see the truth of the matter). You only ever need to take seriously a ticket from the Council or the Police - fact.

In my handbag I have all my letters sent by a private parking co over 2 years ago. I laughed when I saw their sorry attempt at faking a PCN and just filed all the letters because I knew about this rip-off. You made a mistake wasting your time and energy ringing and writing to them, stop doing so immediately.

Watchdog have covered this generic scam last year, with a legal expert showing you what to do with one of these bogus tickets.

To see the Watchdog clip, all you have to do is read Crabman's sticky threads at the top of the board. Read the stickies and several threads, you'll soon lose that nervousness when you've watched the Watchdog excerpt.

Stop reacting to those letters and phone calls. It goes against the grain I am sure but you must just ignore the letters and they will go away!

Do not let the next caller lead the conversation. You take over the conversation, talk over them if need be. Tell them that you will now report them for the criminal offence of harassment and that they must not contact you further. End of conversation, phone down.

Annoying or pestering callers I used to punish with a firm blow into a referees whistle I had purchased for exactly that purpose. Not sure, though if this is legal in UK, check out if it is, because it works a treat.
