Well i got my first email in 5 years of using the internet today asking my internet banking details (i.e. passwords) to be "confirmed". It looked like a proper Barclays Bank email, but as i knew better i forwarded the email to Barclays internet security section and have ignored the email.
What i would like to know is though does anyone know how they knew i had a Barclays account? ive scanned my laptop today using AVG Anti-spyware, AVG Anti-Virus, Adaware and Spybot plus ive used CCleaner and nothing has been picked up at all.
Should i be worried at all?
Any advice much appreciated as always

I get barclays ones and I don't have a barclays account. It has nothing to do with you actually having an account with them. It's just coincidence. Of British phishing I've only ever seen Halifax and Barclays bank accounts."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

No need to lose any sleep over it. I have a dozen email accounts and probably get 140+ of these a week.
If you send out 50,000 phishing emails to 50,000 random email addresses, it's odds on you'll hit someone who it applies to.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
