Third Party Insurance Claim

Hi,
Last week someone ran into the back of me and has accepted responsibility for it (not really his to do but there you go - for the purpose of this question lets assume though that its his fault and that theres no question).
Contacting my insurance I was told I only have third party insurance so we can not help you. (Long story from another thred...)
What do I do now? Do I contact his insurance and would they normally help me given the situation? Do I fix it myself and then take up the legal support my insurance offers?
Seems strange that my insurance won't help me with this?

Yep, Afraid so. You need to contact his insurance of it was his fault anyway. Best option usually.
If you have legal protection on your policy that should help you but i wouldnt hold out much hope.
As your 3rd party your insurance are not out of pocket so wont be in a rush to spend time & money
recovering your costs.
Years ago a driver crashed into the back of me, using his parents car whilst they were on holiday.
He was not insured. My insurance company sent a letter or 2 then said its not worth chasing him
further. Fat lot of good they were.
This was before the days of claim compensation for everything. I bet the would be more eager these
days.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
