car tax reclaim?

HI unfortunatly I was involved in a car accident and my car is not a write off. When I went to collect my things from it the man gave me my tax disc and said I can get money back from it. It runs ou 28th feb. How do I go about this? Thank you

you can get a form from the post office which you post off with the tax disc and the send you a cheque back for the remaining tax left,

You can download the form V14 from the DVLA website, fill it in and stick the tax disc to it and send it off. All the instructions are with the form. You can only reclaim full months so you need to get the form posted by the 30th November to get a refund of December to February.

You only get a refund for the compete months left on the disc.

To get a refund for December it has got to be with them on 30 Nov at the latest. (Or postmarked 30 Nov if sending it through the mail.)
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
