Anyone know of a free drag and drop wysiwyg website builder?

Hi all,

I have purchased coffeecup HTML Editor in 2004 and get lifetime upgrades so now it is the 2010 I have installed. it used to have drag and drop facility but now you can not and I am not confident enough to build the whole site this way as did try but when uploaded to site what I could see in preview mode and what turns up on site are not the same. Background picture is not showing up, side bar with navigation is plain text not menu, google checkout link and paypal links are not there. Even getting layered stuff is hard to do on this if you are not perfect with HTML tags. Why oh why did they lose the drag and drop part of the software?

This all being said is there any free drag and drop editors out there I could use that I do not have to swap hosting company or that have too much advertising on them?

Thank you all for your help and God Bless

I don't use Coffeecup, never got on with it. What is the website domain name and I'll have a look at the source files.

Could just be a case that the page has got a little confused with the amount of detail on it.

  • The file was not made live as it was not right but I could go there and swap it for the index file if you wish.

Just make it index2.html and upload it.

That way it won't overwrite the one in place

The source shows exactly what you've put on it. I would recommend using something like Wordpress for your site rather than CoffeeCup. WP is a lot more versatile.

Also you do know that counselling is spelt incorrectly

Yes it was spelt the American way as wife and her whole family are american and will be advertising the site there too.

  • As for wordpress is that drag and drop? I even thought would sign up for a "free" flash site and redirect this to it but that would be a waste of domain name and hosting fees.

Have a look at Wordpress.com you can set up a site for nothing and get used to the back end before installing it onto your server.

It's really easy to use and manipulate.

NetObjects Fusion Essentials is free, and is drag 'n' drop. The only requirement is that you have a link to the software on the bottom of your index page.

Well worth a look, but I would suggest you also visit W3 Schools and learn some basic HTML as there is no substitute for knowing how to fix issues. You might also want to run the code through the W3 validator to check for compliance, as some of the NOFE coding I've seen is bizarre to say the least.
