ending relationship housing problem

Me and my partner of ten years have decided to split up. We have four children together and a joint mortgage. The split is completely mutual and she does not want the house as it is very small and she has not been happy in it for a long time unfortunately the housing association has told her that she has to kick me out and have the house for herself.
Anyone got any advice

Sorry but could you give a bit more information:
1. You say you have a mortgage but you're dealing with a housing association - is it on a right to buy scheme? If so have long have you had the mortgage and was the tenancy in single or joint names?
2. Do you have any circumstances why they wouldn't give you a mortgage in just your name - eg you're not working full time, bad credit? If it's a joint mortgage then your partner shouldn't have more right to the property then you so little confused why they are saying that to her.0 -
We have a joint mortgage but as we are splitting up one of us needs to find a new home, and as she is not interested in keeping the house herself she has applied for a council house which is now done only through housing associations0

You mean that she part-owns a house and has applied to the Housing Association and they have declined to provide her with an alternative house? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

surely tho, if you kicked her out the council wold house her?
sorry not too sure how council housing work's.0 -
Ok, so that makes a little more sense

I doubt the housing association has told her to 'kick you out' since it's none of their business but I'm guessing they have suggested she stay in the house since if she leaves voluntarily she will be classed as low priority on their housing list. Is privately renting not an option for her?0
