Worktop Material - Bushboard encore / quartz / duropal etc...

I’m looking for a worktop for my U shaped kitchen
I’d started looking at Quartz, however I don’t think my budget can stretch quite that far. I saw an offer for 3 lengths for £850 on eBay, but when I emailed, they slapped on delivery, VAT and other bits, and it ended up being over £1400!!
I’ve also looked at bushboard encore - composite worktop... but that still comes up quite expensive (not that much far off quartz)
I’m now considering Duropal - has anyone used that?
Can anyone suggest any other composite material to look at?
I can’t have laminate, as I’m using an undermount sink.
Thanks

Cross off Duropal on your list. It's a laminate.

Don't ever use Encore, it scratches so easily and you have to polish it every week with their special polish, which costs a fortune and takes a lot of time. It doesn't even get the scratches out.
Move a plate on the surface and it leaves scratches - absolute nightmare. Worst purchase we ever made!0 -
Quartz is a man made solid surface and there will always be a cost to fabricate and install it as it's basically the same process as granite.
The problem you've got to start with is you're comparing a laminate (duropal) to Encore (a resin based semi solid surface) to Quartz a 30mm thick solid surface)
It's kind of like asking:-
I'm looking at a Kia, a Ford and a Mercedes - which one is best and why is the Mercedes so much more than the others!0
