What to do with stuffed toys?

I'm sure most charities wouldn't appreciate 2 binbags full of them...What could I do with them? The only option I can think of is taking them to the tip which I'd rather not do.

    the boys schools sometimes had a teddy tombola for which they would take very clean stuffed toys.

    How about Freecycle ?? Not sure if someone would get them off you to sell on the likes of Ebay or something though ;)....

    If they are in good condition I would look into packing them for something like the parcel appeal you normally hear about at xmas { where new toys are posted to third world countries for children more deprived }

    I sold 2 bin bags of them myself last year on a car boot to one lady for £2 - I was having a clear out at the time though.

    Other than that what I can think of is donating to a local children's home / hospice / sure start center etc

    You could sell them at car boot, I always buy stuffed childrens toys for 20p at my local car boot for my dog.

    You could ask any local animal charities or rescue centres if they want them, I donated all of mine to a local animal charity, they often ask for soft toys for kittens and cats to snuggle up to :)

    Some fund-raisers do take them. If you or any friends/relatives have school age kids ask if their school does the 'bag2school' where they take clothes, belts bags, beddings and cuddly toys. Both the infant and junior schools in my village do this sort of collection and it was where I send mine, as my DD's collection needs culling every so often.;)

    What about the local old folk's home? I realise it might sound a bit daft, but I watched a Tv programme a while back on it, there have been studies where old people in nursing/care homes really appreciated having some childhood toys, it gave them great comfort ( especially for those who are "in their second childhood" due to senile dementia)

    It's worth a phone call to ask them...

    It is worth asking your local primary school in case they could use them for a school fair

    Thats a good idea, our school did a summer fair a few yers ago and had a 'teddy tombola' stall that was very popular!
