nice store - but a lot of the stuff looks a bit too try hard - not great reductions - still very expensive for money savers like me!

THANKS OP - Glad I caught it in time as had a £5 giftcard I wanted to use so was well chuffed!!!

Managed to get some wine glasses ( unboxed @ the back of the shop ) some light bulbs for 1p ( got the last 4 ) a set of test tube vases £1+ ( last one ) some chrome hook rails £1.10 ( they had blue hook rails for 80p ) and a single hook for 30p

They also had some lovely metal shower caddys in pink or blue for just £2 ... I think they really are just 'clearing' it all now but there were still some expensive items like their textiles etc so you have to have a proper look round

Most things were priced now or you just took 50% off the sticker price

I got all of the above for NOTHING using my giftcard ( didn't get the shower caddy ) ... So walked out well pleased!!!

Popped to Jaeger to pick up the ( posh ) toiletry items I ordered with the £20 off .. Then found a jumper in Jane Norman for £4 ( was £32 ) , used some £1 off Boots vouchers so spent 12p and got some small Soap and Glory items on 3 for 2 so got my £5 off no 7 voucher so bought something for £1.50 from no 7

I blame MSE entirely!! :rotfl:

Even if you don't want to buy anything, pop in as it is an amazing building and the skylight is phenomenal. It also has the oldest existing cinema organ still in tact at the back of the shop.

Nothing like shopping and culture!

A SHOP which sells really uncomfortable sofas for £3000 is to close down.

This three-seater sofa is also available as a pile of forks

Habitat, popular with people who do not like sitting, has admitted that it has struggled to compete in a Britain that is more reluctant than ever to remain standing up.

A spokesman said: "It seems there is no longer an appetite for living room furniture that has been sharpened to a point.

"If only Terence Conran had designed a sofa that was the same shape as him."

Martin Bishop, retail analyst at Madeley Finnegan, added: "Four years ago I bought half a dozen wine glasses from Habitat for sixty quid. They've all been broken because it turns out they were made from glass.

"I now buy 50 wine glasses for a tenner from Ikea, because it turns out their wine glasses are also made from glass."

Meanwhile Bishop warned that the demise of Habitat could now lead to many, many, many newspaper articles about the death of some part of Britain's cultural make-up, symbolising an Eighties ideal of refined, mature consumerism and have you really made it to the end of this sentence? Well done.

The company administrators stressed that they hope to retain a few branches in London where many people still prefer to stand as it makes it much easier to judge all the other people in the room

I heard on the radio that they had gone into administration, with the London stores being bought out by home retail? Closest to me, Canterbury is to be closed and the one in Bluewater is going too. Think I rememebr them saying ALL stores outside of London are going!
Ive never shopped there so not too bothered but this makes me wanna rush down there and see if I can buy any bargains!! lol.
