My fella and I ordered a 3 seater sofa and a love seat from the Quantos range at SCS and were supposed to take delivery yesterday. We had got rid of the old sofa (donated to a family member, very MSE
) which probably jinxed it!
When the sofa's arrived the delivery guys brought it upstairs for me (I'm in an upper floor flat) but found they couldn't get it through the living room door due to the size of the sofa and there being a wall in the hallway opposite the doorway preventing them from tilting the sofa to get it in the room. They tried every which way to no avail. I could have sat and sobbed.
Expecting them to say 'tough sh*t, you should have checked before you bought' (we did check it would fit IN the room but not if it would fit THROUGH the doorway!), but they didn't say anything of the sort. They were very sympathetic and went through all my options and when I decided to let them take it back and class it as a failed delivery they seemed genuinely concerned about what we were going to sit on!
Went back to the store this morning the manager was already aware of the situation and was expecting us in. He first offered to have a team get it through the window which would have been great if it weren't for the fact we will be moving in the next 6-12 months. Then he offered to have it delivered again at no extra charge and have an upholsterer come and take the arms off and put them back on once it was in the room. He will also show us how to do it ourselves for when we move.
Not once did they say it was our fault and they couldn't do more for us. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with the service we received :T

IS it SCS that have those winner new adverts? "To half the price of our sofas we would have to double it first"? Something like "our sofas have never been £2000, have never been £1500 and are infact £1000"0
