My partner has a mortgage with the Halifax, which he is wanting to move when his fixed rate ends at the end of this year. As he lives in what is termed a "non-traditional build" house, not all lenders are willing to offer mortgages. His house is of "Swedish timber construction" and was built around 1995. Does anyone know which lenders he should speak to?

There will be lenders that could look at this, but I would suggest running the exact details pasy a whole of market adviser, in order for them to make the necessary calls to check this out for you.
