I am not moving from this seat until I have switched!!!
From checking Uswitch it seems that Scottish Power is cheapest for Electricity, and Npower cheapest for Gas.
I pay both by DD at the moment, and I am in credit on one and debit on the other.
Is it ok to switch with debit and credit on my account (both with BG)?
What is the best way to get cashback?
Do I need to tell BG or give them notice?
Is there anything else I have forgotten?
Thanks

BG will send you a bill based upon final readings after you have switched. Then you can pay off your debit and claim your credit (could your credit be used to pay off your debit)?
Bear in mind that it is usually cheaper to have both fuels from the same supplier.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
By the number of complaints mentioned on this board, you perhaps, maybe, going from the frying pan into the fire.
Quidco gives cashback, if an item is ordered thru them. You have to register. Energyhelpline give £15 for most transfers and even mentions those suppliers that don't pay them commission.Uswitch doesn't mention ALL providers and will reward you with cheap plonk, which you may get, or maybe not.
If you are a low user, some providers are better than others.
You can move with a debit balance, and a final bill will be sent, tho if a large amount you may have to pay it off upfront.
Try energyhelpline and UK power comparison sites before you switch. Plenty of help available tho being Saturday you may have to wait until Monday.
Why the hurry.0 -
No hurry - I suppose I have just been putting this off for so long I thought I had better get my !!!!! into gear.
I will leave it until Monday, and hopefully all you experts will have loads of advice for me!
BTW, I am already registered with Quidco0 -

I switched from Npower Dual Fuel to Scottish Power as they would reduce my bill by around £150 per year on £1000 usage.
Scottish Power will give £35.00 through Quidco for a Dual Fuel Switch. £17.50 for one.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0 -

Does Quidco give you the money or the company your switching to? And how long do you need to stay with that supplier for?
My minds thinking along the lines that if you switch every month or so that could work out as quite a good saving on the energy bills.0 -
Check out ebico - they seem to be the cheapest for me0

Don't know, ABN, not a member, don't spend enough to warrant the hassle. They would have that covered no doubt.
....but being in debt with the energy companies might work, as yet they are not charging extra for owing. As long as you know you owe it, and the customer services don't seem to care about initially reducing your monthly DD .0 -

Yes agree, tho being a low user helps, and not cheap for all the country, and you have to go to church.:rotfl:0
