Barclays offsetting advise

Options
HI ,

Hopefully someone had dealt with barclays before so may know what happens here

if you are awarded a ppi claim , did barclays settle this claim by offsetting it against all barclays accounts you had with them , if they were closed but still had an outsanding balance?

When you say closed what do you mean? I understand closed as a zero balance if you are with me? Unless they have "sold" the debt.

If they no longer have your debt "on their books" the refund should go to you- as the issue is between you and barclays. This is an important point to be clear on- whether the debt has been transferred from the assets ledger to the losses ledger.

If you still owe them (barclays) the refund will go towards reducing your barclays account balance and you cant do anything about it.
