SEPA need to be reminded they are jobsworth!! Hardly fair at all to wiield the big stick when pollution has been due to theft. Hate to say it though, if close to a burn, bunded tank is required, normally not a problem when fuel was a cheap commodity. pre late 2004 I never paid any more than £400 for 2000 litres of kero.
BB, how many litres does tank hold? I did not realise tank is new too, a leak is possible?
Pressure test is a good idea.
Ps, mains gas goes nuts too re cost, especially winter months, I installed a M/F burner a couple of year back, best investement for a long time!0 -
Arrrgghhhh. If I move even half an inch, I loose my connection and lost the post I just typed.
Short version.
That's a horrible stress to have put on with SEPA, additional to the damage done to their tank.
OH has talked about backup....and said he's going to take power supply that runs the boiler, put a 13amp plug on the end of it, and plug it into one of the sockets in the house. If there's a power cut, he'll go get the generator and plug it into that.
After today's 924 litres...i'm going to look into getting a multi fuel stove for the livingroom. Not sure if the extension could house one though.scottishminnie wrote: »I'm now researching multi fuel stoves as we think it may be a sensible investment. It would also give us a backup when the power is off and we have no heat.
Never did I think the cost of filling the tank would be into 4 figures:eek:bam bam bammy Shore by The Revellers...do do de de do.0 -
No, the combi boiler is new. The tank holds 1200 litres.
Doesn't add up. Old banger every 3 months...newboiler, once a month.
