Are all body moisturisers the same?

I've just ordered some of the Boots P&P with the glitch making them £8 each.
Now I have a dilema - if it doesn't make much difference, I've wasted a fortune. If it makes a diiference, I can't afford to buy the product regularly.:o
To me, even at £8 it's alot more than I'd usually spend.
I'm hating certain areas of my body atm, particularly my upper arms and I suppose I was looking for a miracle cure.:)

IME no. Just like any beauty product some work well for me others leave me greasy, sticky, coloured or never sink in. You have to find what works for you, my skin is very very dry and I love Kiehl's but failing that (due to funds/not having a birthday near enough) I like Nivea.
As far as I am aware, no cream can work miracles so if your looking for something to do any of the following:
Reduce body fat, tone, add inches, take away cellulite, take away years or perminantly get rid of wrinkles, your wasting your time. Creams can moisturise, help with dry patches and some skin infections or reactions. Thats about it.0 -
I think it depends on your skin type.
i used soap and glory stuff stuff the firming cellulite gel and body butter, works fine for me. I don`t expect miracles. I use more for moisturising as my skin hates cold weather so dries out.mum to; Two Boys (Non id twins)Two Girls (Id twins)0 -
I tend to compromise and use a cheapie for everyday use (the M&S body lotions at £1 are OK) then I like things like Clarins for special occasions and pampering sessions. They do only keep your skin from being rough and dry so provided they soak in fairly quicky after my shower and smell nice I'm happy.0

No, they are not all the same!! I prefer body butters, they're so much richer and really do make my skin feel softer. Lotions are just too runny for my liking! I've bought this serum as well to try it out, someone mentioned that you can return partly-used products to Boots if you're not happy with them. Does anyone know if this is true?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I normally use Avon's Skin So Soft Age -defying moisturiser. At the moment I am testing Tesco's body butter. The second tester is lovely, but they will never tell what make things are.
NB Also paranoid about my arms. Look at older women in the media; that one place that they can't do anything about!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Last year I triend lots and lots of different body butters (I prefer the thicker consistancy) and there is no doubt some were better than others. When your husband comments consistantly on the nights you've used a particular product you know you've found a good one.....
(mine is dove pro age....I don't think I could find something better for my skin)0 -
Now just to be contrary I hate body butters.
They sit on my skin in a sticky layer for far too long and most of them are too strongly scented for my liking. I want to smell of my perfume not mango or coconut or.....0 -

Try a body serum. Nivea and Boots No.7 both sell great ones.
I prefer natural moisturisers, my current fave is by Kiehl's (restorative moisturiser).
Don't forget your skins needs in the winter are not the same as in the summer.0 -
if it doesn't make much difference, I've wasted a fortune.
Is that the Intense Serum? put them on eBay - currently selling for around a tenner each plus p&p
I love the face serum from No7 P&P - it seems to smooth my face out
Body Butters have to be as thick as possible - I've learnt to spend a few minutes rubbing them in - instead of just slapping it on like I used to and walking round trying not to let anything touch me in case it rubbed off
and as for arms - I have a bingo wing - yep! just the one  Left arm is flabby but not flappy :rotfl: right arm is just embarrasing

Stalking you! Nooooooo! What I meant when I said I was going to return my stuff was that it seemed to have stopped foaming (body wash). So I was going to return it and complain.someone mentioned that you can return partly-used products to Boots if you're not happy with them. Does anyone know if this is true?
My sister reacted to her product and emailed boots who apologised (I think they changed the formula as it was something she had always used?) and refund her money onto her AC. HTH and sorry for any confusion
