problems with this site?

apologies if this is not the correct place to post but i do not know where is best.

this morning i could log on th MSE no problem but this afternoon everytime i try and log on using my home broadband it says my i.p address has been banned by the admins?? no idea why this would be i have not done or said anything dodgy that i am aware of.

tried contacting admin as yet no response just wondering if anyone knows why this could have happened?

as you can see using air card via o2 i am able to log on ok so username not banned.

I guess you will have to wait for the admins to respond.
If your IP has been banned, then they will have to unlock it. Not sure of why, but some sites have an autoban system, which will ban an IP after a certain number of failed login attempts.
If you or anyone else on your IP hasn't done anything iffy, then hopefully it should get sorted.
There is an outside chance that a virus on a PC could be doing something bad, but I would wait for the admins to respond, hopefully with a reason.

I've just checked all of the posts you made over the last 36 hours, nothing contentious there my friend, as ' davb ' has said its down to the admin when they get back to you.

Do you connect through any kind of proxy? What is your ISP (some have transparent proxies/webcaches you might not be aware of). It may be that someone else using the same proxy did something to get themselves banned and you're connecting as the same IP address.

You'll just have to wait for the admins to get back to you

thanks for the replies still no reply from admins so none the wiser on the problem.

to answer a couple of questions there was no failed logins it worked fine in morning and then trying to login again couple of hours later got the message.

not really sure on all the technical jargon about proxy etc but i am using the same ISP i have for 12 months (BT total broadband) with the homehub

You could always try turning off your homehub for a couple of minutes. Assuming you don't have a static IP, then it will most likely get a new IP when it restarts - and you should be able to get on here ok. Thinking about it, that could even be the problem, BT recently seem to be refreshing the IP's on routers quite often, so you could have been switched to a banned one on the last refresh.
If you get blocked again, then you know there is definitely a problem.
