Does anyone know if "Reduction for disabled valuation" will qualify us for free cavity wall insulation? Loads of scheme out there offering services to people on various benefits. Thank you.

if an adult in the house receives any rate of DLA you can apply for a warm front grant. (as long as its either your own home or a private let.
i had loft insulation, boiler repairs, a new bathroom radiator and theyre doing the cavity wall insulation on friday.
its taken a wait of 7 months, but when something is free, you cant expect them to come out and do it the next day!

The Warm Front Grants have been temporarily suspended until the end of the 2010/11 financial year:

The adult has to be the homeowner. We tried to get it and got told that because neither of the homeowners receive DLA, we can't get any help.

  • Thanks all. Not receiving DLA, it's a reduction in council tax because of home dialysis.

Do you need someone with you when having your home dialysis?
If you do you should be able to claim DLA middle rate care.
