Buy Secretly on E-bay

I am considering buying my partners Xmas pressie on E-bay, but as he is such an avid user himself, I can't just bid and buy as he would be able to see what I am watching, bidding on etc, and worse what I paid for it.
I was thinking of buying and then deleting the listing etc, and I don't think that he would pick up the transaction on paypal as it uses user names and that wouldn't automatically click.
I could also ask the seller not to leave feedback (as we are trying to build up our profile, H would easily notice a new feedback.
Does this sound feesible, or is there an easier way ?
Many thanks in advance.

I would open a new account on ebay as usually you can have about 10 email adresses and pay by cheque. Use free trial on bidnapper to bid so he can not see you watch item.
I have about 5 email accounts so its possible.
If you get stuck (i know you dont know me from adam but i could give you my ebay name and you could email me through ebay to check me out (i have 1440 positive feedback) and i could bid & email seller to post to you and then you pay him.I understand if you would rather not but the offer is there if you want. All the best0 -
