Paypal allow you to connect to a bank account or savings bank account, to get verified, just for a security measure.

and want to link my paypal account to a savings account, and was wondering which Saving acounts allow this Paypal Linking.

(This is when they send your bank 2 small payments (3p, 15p for eg) and you have to enter them in your paypal page.

Have you linked your paypal account to a Savings account?

If so which bank was that savings account with?

I heard barclay savings accounts allow this, which other bank companies? (As i heard not all bank saving accounts allow these 2 small incriment payments)

Note- I am just asking for which saving accounts can be linked to paypal -Not bank accounts, as I know all bank acccounts, so am just asking about savings accounts.

Reason for linking it to a savings?
it is linked to a bank account, and when i get some sales from ebay, this money goes to the bank account and is too tempting to use, and I use it lol. - so want the savings account, so the money can stay in a seperate account.

(My bank account is accessed almost everyday, as i use my card to take out cash, so i would like savings account) and want to know which banks allow connecting savings accounts to paypal.

So want a savings account to connect this paypal account to (or if i open a New PP account, want to connect that to the savings)

  • I have my ebay paypal account linked to my Barclays account ,so I would presume you could set up a transfer by standing order each month into one of their savings accounts
  • Many of us treat Lloyds vantage current accounts as savings accounts, due to the high interest rate on balances from £5k to £7k. (Though for balances of around £3k, it pays 3% which still beats all instant-access savings accounts at the moment.) Using one of those would give you the facilities of a current account but the interest rate of a savings account. You can decline cheque book and debit card when you apply for the account, though they might then deny you the account on the grounds that you don't really intend using it as a current account.

See various other threads on here for the minor hoops required.
