Sorry for the AE, Im a fairly regular poster and family and friends know my regular user name.
Im already a mummy to two gorgeous children, one boy and one girl and I have just found out Im pregnant.
I live with my partner in our mortgaged two bedroom house.
We both work and earn a fair wage between us, but due to being silly with credit we have no chance of moving for a good few years until we have cleared some cards and cleaned up our files a bit.
I dont know how we are going to do this. I havnt even told my OH yet. How do people cope?

i've got 3 children in one bedroom and another on the way. We have offered the children to move or have the room split ( it quite big) but they simply don't want to. they love havign one room together. My dd is 7, ds 5 and ds2. the boys have bunk beds, my ds has a normal single.
it works because we want it to work.
they children go to bed at 7, have story time and all then just doze off to sleep. in the morning they are all happy as they are all together and can play games etc before getting ready for school.
it works really well for us.
how old are your children ?0 -
Your hearts expand even if your home can't yet.
But I guess it is more practical advice that you are after, which I can't give as we are in a similar situation - works okay for now but getting pregnant again would not be in our plans at the moment because of the house/money.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply.
My boy is 8 and my girl is 18 months, so there is already a bit of an age gap.0 -
Doesnt sound like it from my above post but I deal with most things life throws at me. My partner is really going to struggle with this one though.0

well if worst came to worst, in the biggest bedroom have all your wardrobes, drawes etc and a single bed for your son, plus his furniture, and in the smaller room the two youngest . and each night you and hubby use a sofa bed. it isn't ideal i appreciate that, but when your in a family you always find ways to make things work.
i find one things that works really well is keeping down the clutter.0 -
everything always happens for a reason tho hun, stay positive. what is more amazing than bringing a new life into your family. it wil work out.0

congratulations.
We also lived in a 2 bedroom house and had 2 daughters, then i found out i was expecting again not planned,we did worry about money and housing took about 3 mths for it all to sink in but we cope,we lived in a 2 bedroom house till my son was 10mths old, then we managed to get a exchange as we are council, even now though we have a 3 bedroom house but we only use 2 bedrooms as the 3rd bedromm is still being decorated/sorted.
as you can see from my sig we went on to have a 4th baby, shortly after we moved to the new house jan10 i found out i was pregnant in may10,that was hard because in my head we only have enough room for 3 children, our 3rd bedroom is tiny but its all turned out ok.
As for money,i stay at home with the children & my OH works full time,he has a pretty good job so we manage to pay all the bills and theres abit left over for the stuff we need,it can be pretty tight at times,i cant tell you how we cope but you just do,you have to really dont you? my children are ages 6 (nearly 7),3,my sons 2 next month and my youngest is 8 weeks, people always stop me in the street and ask how i do it,do i sleep lol
The only other thing ive noticed is it has put stress on me and my OH,we dont get much time for eachother, would i change it? Not a chance
The kids all get on (mostly lol) & on a bad day when OH comes home and the place is a tip & all 4 kids are screaming he chips in & helps!!! Mummy to 4 gorgeous children

i was like that with my 3rd,my 2nd daughter was hard work, never slept for the 1st 16mths,when she was 7mths old and i found out i was expecting again i was gutted, just could not imagine pulling it off when my daughter was such hard work, when my son was born it just sort of all clicked together, when we founf out about baby 4 we didnt stress we both just laughed and took the attitude of we will just get on with it!
i like what jcr16 has said "everything happens for a reason" thats what i always say & really do believe.

Are rents for 3 bed places in your area about the same as what you are currently paying on your mortgage? If so would selling up and renting be an option for you?
I know that sometimes people see this as a backwards step but it might actually improve your quality of life a great deal. There are benefits to renting!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
