Is it appropriate to mention general projects, community works, enterprises that were discontinued (whether they were a success or not) in a personal statement?

All depends on how you write it. They'll be more interested in the skills you gained from it.0

Just make sure everything you mention you say how it makes you a good potential student. So rather than listing everything you've taken part in say something along the lines of 'alongside my studies I've taken part in a number of extra-cirricular activities i.e...... Through these activities I've learnt to budget/organise my time/work with different groups of people etc....0

Your personal statement is your chance to really sell yourself, not just list what you've done. Find a way to make your statement stand out and make you really interesting.0

my advice is to make sure when you talk about the things you have done relate them to the course you are applying for eg. leadership skills. team work, organisation, etc.0
