Pro-max for cats

My vet sent me home with this ''on the off chance''and I just wondered if anyone had any experience with it.
I think it might be helping.....and think I might try more of this before the next stage (more tests) to see. I only have five days worth.
If this is the answer is there a cheaper alternative or place to buy. Something that could go in feed might be better...its not doing much for relations with the feral doing this twice a day! Otherwise I'll persist with this....

So it is a probiotic with some kind of stool binder?
Well....there are lots of other options which you could consider....
Pro-kolin is a similar vet product and they can both be bought from online pharmacies without prescription, probably cheaper than the vet sells it.
Fortiflora is also a veterinary formula but comes as a sachet of powder made from animal digest....may sound disgusting to us but it is the same flavouring they use on dry cat food and treats so most cats will eat this willingly added to food....I have even used it as an appetite enhancer rather than for it's probiotic benefits.
Slippery elm powder acts as a bowel moderator ie it loosens constipation but binds loose stools. It can be bought loose very cheaply from a herbalist, or even in capsules in Holland and Barratt. Again many cats love the taste and will eat this in food. ( should be given 30 mins away from any other meds as it can block their uptake )
Or you could even go for a spoonful or two of goat milk probiotic yoghurt as a maintenance dose once things are more settled.0 -

The silly thing is I have pro kaolin somewhere....hmm.
yes, the stool binder bit is key.:o Feral has very liquid poop (though is still putting on weight) and though trying she can't always get to the tray on time.
The fortiflora sounds like a good idea too.
Thank you!0
